The mission of the national organization, COTAD, is to “empower occupational therapy leaders to engage in practices that increase justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion; anti-racism and anti-oppression for a transformative occupational therapy profession.” This national organization envisions “a future in which occupational therapy is accessible, inclusive, and effective for all.” The ECU Occupational Therapy COTAD Chapter is a student-led group that “develops and promotes justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion, anti-racism, and anti-oppression within occupational therapy education programs and in the profession” as quoted from the role of the national organization.
