Guest Lecturers and Community Partners

Our students in the Master of Science in Occupational Therapy program and the Doctor of Occupational Therapy program demonstrate the excellence in clinical skills consisting of clinical performance based in occupation, critical and ethical reasoning, evidence-based practice and scholarship, and professionalism and leadership. Both didactic and experiential courseworks are critical in developing occupational therapists with excellent clinical skills. Although students gain foundational knowledge and start applying the gained knowledge in a classroom setting, they obtain advanced knowledge from guest lecturers with up-to-date expertise in the relevant field and experiential learning and fieldwork opportunities possible through our community partnerships. Therefore, our guest lecturers and community partners are important elements in educating occupational therapy students at East Carolina University. We appreciate their willingness to share their knowledge and skills with and provide learning opportunities to our students.
